Dan is on the road again...

Tomorrow Dan is leaving for Texas until the weekend. I am used to him leaving so I am okay with it, He however is not used to leaving his little girl. So he is not okay with it. I feel bad for him, but this is to closeout the job so it is good. Hopefully, we can get some work that we are bidding on locally, so that he doesn't have to travel.

On the house front, we received the prints the other day. We have prints out to a plumber and next is trusses/masonry. When Dan gets back from Texas, he will start digging. We will be saving a lot of money by doing the work ourselves. This will lengthen the project as well though. Hopefully we can stay on task and get it done. Since we do a lot of work with the plumber, he will sell us a lot of the material and let Dan install it so that will save us money as well. Affordable masonry is hard to find. Also, we purchased the barn package on Friday night. It will be in in 2 weeks. So we have two projects going on at once...wow!

These posts take me so long now because I am checking on Kate in between..

Speaking of Kate, she is changing so much everyday. She will smile at me...which is the best feeling in the world. She can fit in her 0-3 month clothing, which is fun because I have so much of it and had no newborn clothing. I love watching her personality evolve.

Oh and we got most of the house clean this weekend. It hasn't been this clean since before she was born. Baby steps...

After a fussy evening...

where Dan dealt with 45 minutes of screams while I was at my niece's chorus concert...
Kate slept from 10pm to 3:40am then from 4am-6am. GLORIOUS.

This weekend...

We have decided we are building a house, this house to be exact. On our farm, overlooking the lake that has yet to be built. My parents sold their farm to my brother and they are itching to move. They love my house (That I bought from them) so back it goes and they will love it. I love it and it is bittersweet moving out of our first house (even though it has only been 3 years) but I feel like we already have so many memories here. But I am so excited for what is to come. I love our farm and this new house design and I plan on living there the rest of my life. We should have the bare bones done in 6 months and be able to move in. Yikes.
So fingers crossed everything works out.

Kate is doing fabulous. I fall in love with her more and more everyday. I cannot believe Dan and I, so imperfect, have created something so perfect. Every day I see a new look or a new strength. I m so blessed.

Update.

Wow, I have not updated in a long time. Check out Kate's blog for a pictorial update on her. I have been busy keeping up with her and getting in a rhythm now that I have been working more. It is not easy. I get frustrated with myself that I cannot do it all. I have to realize that it is okay. It is okay to still have the last 10 lbs to lose. It is okay to have a messy house. It is okay to not get laundry put away. That is hard for me to handle. My house was rarely super clean, but I like to have things picked up. I can't even get that done without Dan's help it seems.
So far I love cloth diapering. If you are considering it, give it a chance. Dan loves to use the All-in-Ones and I use the prefolds. I don't see any sense in asking him to use those when there are AIO's there to use. Breastfeeding and pumping is going well. I wish I was more committed to a schedule when pumping so that I could build up more of a stock. I get 4-8 extra ounces in a day it seems.
I cannot wait to go on a date with Dan. Our good friends want to go out to eat with us and I am thinking that in a couple of weeks I will be ready for that. My parents are already used to watching her, so th
at is an easy option and I know Dan's mom would love watching her as well.
I really want to get an exercise routine and want to start running again. I am borrowing my mom's wii fit to see if I would like one. I have really liked the yoga so far.
Any suggestions on a good routine?
I guess that is all for now. Have a fantastic weekend!

#1 Reason to Breastfeed

So breastfeeding had been a challenge early, and still is somewhat painful. She actually has a much better latch since the bottle has been introduced(?).
But here it is...
The number one reason to breastfeed...
I absolutely love it when Kate falls asleep feeding and just falls off the breast and we can nap together and she is cuddled up next to me. I often feed her in the sidelying position because it is most comfortable for both of us and she does better that way. Seeing her little milk drunk eyes roll to the back and her eyelids reluctantly close in pure bliss and then her mouth unconsciously just falls away...
That is one of the best things this world can offer.
And it is one reason why I still breastfeed at night and pump in the day.
You just don't get that feeling after a bottle.

I love this bond with my little girl and I started crying today when I read some posts about milk drying up at 4 months and someday we won't have this bond...
